My Tuition Approach

As a fully enhanced DBS checked tutor, Phil has built up a wealth of experience teaching pupils aged 6 - 75 over the past decade in a variety of subjects ranging from classical grades to jazz improvisation and theory.
​
Teaching at homes, schools and colleges, Phil has taught from complete beginners to advanced performers in individual lessons and classes of up to 60 pupils.
​
His approach to teaching is firstly for the pupils to enjoy themselves in the lessons while working around their strengths and weaknesses with an encouragement on the fundamentals of the instrument, making every lesson tailored to each pupil.

---WHAT I OFFER---

Lessons can be based in Kelsall, Cheshire (optional home visits if within a 10 mile radius) or from the "Wincham School of Music" office based at Wincham Wharf in Northwich on Sunday and Tuesday.

Group Tuition
If you want to learn the above instruments together with a group of friends and want to keep the price down then this may be the best choice for you. If there is a difference in the ability of each of the pupils then it may be worth having a couple of “One on One” lessons as bumper sessions to build up technique faster.

Price - £37 pr/hr for 2 pupil minimum, then £45 pr/hr for 3 pupils with +£15 for each pupil after. Class size 6 pupils maximum.
Class Tuition
For Schools & Colleges this is a great way to introduce music to pupils in a large group environment with another DBS checked music tutor.

Usually lasting a term these sessions aim to inspire and bring out creativeness.

As this tuition all depends on what instruments the school currently owns / rents - please contact me if there are other instruments needed as due to the repair side I may have instruments which can be rented / purchased. I also know where to get budget priced instruments from I should be able to cater for all requests.
Please note that with this option there must be either a TA or another Teacher in the room while tuition is delivered.
